I love pot! But I HATE weed!

Pots! Pots! OMG! I love pots, and I sure hate WEEDS!!!  And I see what a missing letter can do to your message! Lol
If you are anything like me, then you get a natural high from driving up to your home and seeing a nice crisp entrance. Not too busy but a little “pow” of color just to remind you of all nature can do. But who has the time for weeding and maintenance. Not me! So……..bring on the pots!!
Pots can be as fancy or plain as you desire. I use a basic budget of $10 per pot for the season for the porch and use leftovers or “extras” for other random pots around my yard and in my rose garden.
What I buy with the ten bucks is easy…..a bushy flowering annual, a sweet potato vine, and a coleus. These 3 are tried and true and while they start small they never fail to please. No weeding, a little water and you are done! Front porch bare? Patio pitiful? No worries. Shopping now, a little late for the season can give you great sales and a bigger show. Pop these in and you are BBQ ready!

Too much going on using that method? One big perennial can get it done for my minimalists out there. I use a clump of sedum in a cement planter and get a classic English Garden feel with no work. And…..it comes back every year. Now that is a onetime investment this real chick can live with!

Autumn Flower variety of sedum in a vintage cement planter

Terra cotta your cup of tea? Strawberries or Hens and chicks make a great addition to any porch and again, no work. Plant and you are done. Super quick and super cute….season after season!

Whatever your choice of intoxication…….simple, mixed, annuals, or perennials…….you can’t go wrong with pots all over for a polished porch that says I am ready for company. Puff on that! J Real talk!

Cracked, Jacked Ottoman is now Newest Addition to the Family Room! Check her out!

Ok peeps....my neck and arm feel like they may be forever in pain but I think it was worth it! The family room ottoman is complete!!! Woop! Before I give you the deets......a lil background... I hate replacing things I already have! Oil changes and air filter replacements? HATE! New tires? HATE! It feels like such an investment for something you already have.....I know....gotta do it but I hate it! So after 7 years my beloved (and expensive) leather topped ottoman had started to peel. Yup. Nasty! I ignored this for a few months. Even pushed her into the corner for my annual Christmas Eve party. (Nobody puts baby in the corner!!!!) Then as it started to really bother me I started looking for a new table. Problem was.....I really like the one I have! Of course I find one that is out of this world fabulous! This baby here can be yours for $1600. Even if I hit the lottery I wouldn't pay $1600 for a coffee table. (OK, let's be serious....if I hit the lottery that scrumptious...

Love is in the details!

Ahhhhh it's time for Valentine's! Not just your pop out the box and tear on the fold,  but something fun.....something with some POP! Now would be a good time to mention that my youngest child is 15 and has NO desire for Mom to make any Valentines.......POP or not! But..............my God Daughter is 7 and she is game for it and has the enthusiasm to get me cutting and ribbon curling on a Saturday!! We decided on pencils because her class has the "write" stuff.......of course! and wanted to give some candy too............I mean, pencils are great but 7 year olds want SUGAR!! (this is sooo up my alley!) Added a DIVA pic and a personal note on each and they were looking HOT HOT HOT! (is it right to say that a classroom Valentine project is HOT? hmmmmmmmmm......I think it's ok) Now.....these are looking good and ready to go but how does a little Diva get them all the way to class with no mishaps? Hmmmm.............and at no additional cost? And without run...

Meet Blue Belle my new office cabinet!! $40!

Ok, I have been looking for the right piece to go in my office for over a year. It has to be the right size and I have to house my family room tv components on it as well. this is what the space looked like before......... I know, I know! A hot mess! The rest of the office is great but this was more like a dumping ground. Another challenge is the light switch. see how far into the wall it is? I know....who does that? So whatever I use can't cover the switch. And....since it's me, well, you know I want to do it all for under $50! My husband said I was nuts and that it was an impossible expectation. That motivated me even more and I hit up my favorite cousin Craig.....Craigslist that is! Here is what I found.......... She is short (this is good because I want to use the top) and skinny (this is great because of the light switch problem) and they say make an offer!! Feeling tingly!!!! I send this pic to my husband who is use to getting random pics from me with a question mar...
